First week in and Round Table Robotics has dived into this season's game called REEFSCAPE. We collaborated in watching the stream for the game reveal with the FRC team Trial N' Terror, team 7900. We’re so glad they came to watch the new game with us and share their ideas. We got busy week one, getting back into the swing of things as we submerge ourselves into the new environment that we now have, which we call ‘the Forge’.
Starting off with building the REEF, creating the base for it and then scoring pipes for the REEF. We completed building that alongside cutting the coral for the game using PVC. Electrical and Mechanical students on the team are building MK4n Swerve modules, the Kraken X60.
For electrical, we’ve assembled the wires on our new Kraken motors and connected them to this year's chassis. The freshmen have been taught how to build said motors.
For our CAD, we've started to test out prototypes, iterating on CAD to find the most efficient design for this season's robot. We’re starting to develop our elevator which will be connected to our ALGAE and CORAL intake. For our elevator we’re trying to keep costs down by making it through extrusion. Our next goals are to work on the climber and then the CAD for our intake.
For our programming, we've updated all our firmware and software into the new year of 2025. We’re showing the new students to the team how we code, and the structure of our code. For the test robot we built, ALPHA, we ran tests to make sure that their code works.
The business team has started to design a print for the trailer, and then work on new REEFSCAPE buttons for 2025. We’ve taught the freshmen how to use the business equipment, such as cameras and video editing software. We had a robot demo at Cedar Hills due to them winning the Hurricane Supply Drive.
