Starting week two we had a great time. We had one of our sponsors, PPG, come into the Forge to check out what we’re up to. We’re very grateful for them coming in and for their continued support. We got a lot done this week, so let's get into it.
Our fabrication team has created bumper brackets. We have also created parts for prototyping various manipulators for the robot.
Our design team has been working on multiple prototypes for manipulating CORAL from the ground and the human player station to be scored on the REEF.
Our programming team has been tuning the drivetrain using SysID (A tuning software to get PID values from) to get a more accurate drivetrain, and accurate pose. This is helpful, giving us less drift and more control over the movements of the robot. We’re starting on our autonomous routines which use pathplanner (A software to plan out our auto paths). We’re using a raspberry pi to get our visual system to work with a camera to detect April Tags. This is a temporary solution to us getting an orange pi 5, and more cameras.
Our field assembly team has finished building the majority of the field for this season. The second reef only needs a few more coral branches and the barge lacks a net. The other part of the assembly team has finished working on the ground intake prototype for our robot. We took our arm off our 2024 season robot, ‘BOOMBOX’ to test the new intake before finalizing its design.
The business team has created a design for the trailer to transport our robots and pit to competitions. We also finished our essay for our Impact Award submission.
