Week 6! We’ve been working hard getting ready for this SUNDAY's Sussex Scrimmage. Cutting, tuning, testing, iterating and so much more. As our 6 week build season comes to a close, we look forward to attending Charger Robotics 25th annual week zero scrimmage event. This is a chance to test our 2025 competition robot along side 28 other robotics teams from around the state. Click here to find out more about this incredible event, the schedule and the LIVE STREAM. Let's see what else our sub teams accomplished this week...
Fabrication created additional parts for the robot, and for future iterations. Most importantly, we created a huge plate for our robot cart.

Programming has been handed the competition robot. We got the drivetrain running and have attempted to tune the End Effector PID which affects the movement of our coral intake. The purpose of this is to remove oscillation so that the mechanism goes to a specific position cleanly without over/undershooting its target. Once tuned, we were able to use PID to create setpoints. Currently, we’re working on tuning our elevator to create setpoints for it. We’ve also updated all of our computers to be on the most recently released version of WPILib.

Assembly finished making the drivers station, created our robot cart, and worked on making some spare parts for the robot. We also needed to remove the algae component of the End Effector to allow the programmers to work on the robot more effectively.

Our design team focused on reducing the robot's weight by employing Finite Element Analysis in Inventor, safely eliminating material from the structure and cutting down about 50% of the material. We’ve been adding items to the robot to make it more functional, such as the carrying straps, so we can safely lift the robot for Sussex and future competitions.
Electrical worked with programming to diagnose any problems on the robot. We were also able to finish wiring the button box so we can use it for the rest of the season.

Scouting started the search for a co-lead which will help when the lead needs to take care of other things. We have begun revising the scouting form as we identify elements that might be confusing or unclear to people. Working on the sheet for scouting this week, we finished the creation of our match predictor. We plan on scouting at Sussex, giving us insight on what we need to scout for at future competitions.

We also did an interview with one of our team captains! Meet, Lucas!
